Our workshops are designed to create a supportive, women-centred learning environment for people who may feel less comfortable in traditional male dominated automotive spaces. We welcome all women (including trans women), and non-binary afab people who feel that this environment is the right fit for them. Respect for all participants is essential.

Absolutely. The Women's Auto Academy was created entirely for you. You don't need to know anything at all before you arrive

Absolutely. If you don't drive or don't have a car you are still welcome to attend a workshop, you will be paired with someone who has a car you can practice on

Lunch or money to buy some. Appropriate clothing - long trousers and sleeves, closed shoes (boots preferred) Gloves will be provided but you may wish to bring some of your own Rain coat - we will be under cover while we are working but in case of sideways rain, a coat is recommended! Any tools that come with your car - especially your locking wheel nut key. If you want to change your bulbs/wipers for real on the day, feel free to bring replacements!

Our workshops are teaching basic skills that absolutely everyone can do, so although our instructors are extremely experienced and competent, we not hold any formal mechanic qualification - in fact our founder Louise is training to be a doctor!

At the moment the Women's Auto Academy is only running women's only workshops. This is so the women who attend do not feel intimidated and are able to learn effectively and build confidence. We do have plans to run mixed gender workshops in the future - if this is something you are interested in, please use the contact form and let us know!

The minimum age is 17, under 17 year olds may be able to attend with a parent/guardian - please send us an email before booking

All workshop bookings must be paid for in advance to secure a place. If you need to cancel your booking, the following policy applies: More than 14 days before the workshop date: You may cancel your booking and receive a full refund. Between 14 and 7 days before the workshop date: Bookings cannot be refunded, but you may rearrange your place to another available workshop date. Within 7 days of the workshop date: Cancellations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. If you need to cancel or rearrange your booking, please contact us as soon as possible so we can assist you.
